| Change - There are six fields that can be selected in the drop down menu and globally changed. They are as follows.
- Movie File Path:
- The complete path, including the drive letter, of the file name. (Ex.
c:\my movies\pg13\) The path name is NOT case sensitive. One example
when this would be useful is if you if you moved a folder or directory
of movies to another drive. The movie manager would need to know
where to locate those files to be able to play the movies so in
the 'old field' you would type in the old path and in the 'new field'
you would type in the new path.
- Media Type:
- Type of media such as DVD, VHS, avi, Divx. There is a drop down menu
for the old media type and a drop down menu for the new media type
you wish to change it to. If the media type you wish to change
it to is not in the list, you can add it to the Media Types list
from the Tools -> Options -> Miscellaneous screen. [The
media type can be added to the movie information in three ways.
Either by selecting the media type on the Edit screen, selecting
the media type on the Add -> Single screen or when the movie is imported
from a text file.
When importing from a text file, if you do not specify
a media type for the movies, the media type will be the movie's
file extension.
If you want all the move files to have the same media
type rather than their file extension, on either the first or
second line (depending whether you added :location ), add
::media
type where media
type will be added to the media field for each movie.
When adding a movie with a media type that
is not already defined in the media list, the media type will automatically
be added to the list for you.
When adding a single movie, you are required
to select a media type for that movie. If the media type you
want is not in the list, you can add it to the Media Types
list from the Tools -> Options -> Miscellaneous
screen.]
- Location:
- The location where the media resides. In the 'old field', type in
the old location and in the 'new field', type in the new location.
The location name is NOT case sensitive. [The
location field can be added to the movie information in two ways.
Either by entering the location on the Edit screen or when the
movie is imported from a text file.
When importing from a text file, if you do not specify
a location for the movies, the location field for each movie
will be blank.
If you want all the
movie files to have the same location, on the first line
of the text file add :location where location
will be added to the location field for each movie. If
you want some movies to have a different location, each movie
can have a location specified for it by appending |location|
to the end of the movie file name. The |location|
will take precedence over the :location if one was
added.]
- Genre:
- The type or category of movie. There is a drop down menu
for the old genre and a drop down menu for the new genre
you wish to change it to. If the genre you wish to change
it to is not in the list, you can add it to the Additional Genre
Types list from the Tools -> Options -> Miscellaneous screen.
- Director:
- The director of the movie. In the 'old field', type in
the old director's name and in the 'new field', type in the new
director's name. The director's name is NOT case sensitive
[For
home movies this can be the person who filmed or created the movie
or slide show.]
- Actor:
- A person starring in the movie. In the 'old field', type in
the old actor's name and in the 'new field', type in the new
actor's name. The actor's name is NOT case sensitive.
